| XLV750R Where inside Yamanashi Pref. is your home? Trout is everywhere, if it is the river of Yamanashi Pref. Although it is regrettable most are a release fish. If it is fortunate you may be can fish the beautiful trout that winters and recovered. Yet, as for it the good luck is necessary really. The summer of Japan is too hot it is not good in fishing. It is only the short period in a morning and evening. Also, the river of Japan becomes prohibition of fishery from October. This is your good luck. As for Lake Kawaguchi-ko, there is not prohibition of fishery. And October, November are good. There many rainbow trouts live. You can also fish Rargemouse BASS and BlueGill. |

| There is the area where it has always set
up in Tsuru-shi and Ootsuki-shi. Tsuru-shi
says with "Shishi Dome", and Ootsuki-shi
is "Narako-gawa". Although it is
a little expensive it may be good to a beginner. I did very good fishing in Katsuragawa Riv. in May of this year. I am scheduled to report it with an English edition someday. It will make severe to the fish and will make gentle to the fish body and let's do it good fishing! |

| Hector Hi, Thank you for your information, I will try some early morning fishing. Do you know of any fly fishing groups (clubs) in Yamanashi area? If there are no groups, what do you think of my idea to begin one? If you need help with English reports, please let me help you. I live in Kofu, there are 2 rivers near my home. I see fisherman doing Japanese style fishing but I don't see fly fisherman. |
| XLV750R I do not know the club. Uuum...Japanese flyfisherman does not like a large number of persons. Because, the river of Japan is narrow. The height above sea level is too low in Koufu-shi. In other words, the water temperature is high. Trout is in the branch of the mountain back more. It is upstream from Sudama-shi if it is the Fujigawa Riv. main stream. |

| XLV750R Bass came in Japan 100 years ago. Generally, Bass is a harm fish because it is the fish that eats fish. Recently, as for Bass fishing, there is popularity in a young person. Because it is sporty and fashionable. This style is the Bass professional tournament of USA. It does not keep. And, I am hearing about USA. Although Bass is the delicious fish the commercial transaction is prohibited. It angles if I want to eat. Many lakes of Japan including Lake Kawaguchi-ko are contaminated. The fish is not suited to foodstuff, although it is able to inhabit. I ate Bass only once. It was a meuniere, and It was very delicious. Yet, it becomes to strange foul-smelling when it fails to cooking. Many Japanese does not know this. Because Bass is a harm fish the fishing industry person concerned does not welcome it. Even the extermination is carried out in some areas. The person who wants to angle wants to increase the fish. This is same even the trout of the mountain stream. |
| Hector Thank you very muchfor all your information about bass in Japan I was thinking of going fishing to Lake Kawaguchi. I was very surprised what you said about the contamination. I thoufgt that was a lakem that gets water from the melted snow of the mountains. Why is is contaminated? |
| XLV750R Although Japan is narrow there are many persons. And even the factory is many. Also even the agricultural land is many. It be the life waste fluid, factory waste fluid, agricultural chemicals. Because Japanese eats the fish with raw (Sashimi) the standard to the contamination is severe. However, it is soiling personally. It is not dangerous extent 30 years ago because the regulation became severe now. Well, I think that the fish of Lake Kawaguchi-ko is eaten. It is your judgment. |
