Kanogawa Riv. March 14, 1998 This river is in an Izu district. There are many hot springs here. Here is famous as a health resort from the old days, because it is near from Tokyo.

I visited here in early spring. Because water temperature is low yet I wait for Rise. Although there be the method that a fly is sunk of course I use a dry fly. Hatches: Small Mayfly (It resembles in Baetis), Cranefly (daddy-longlegs), Midge. Fly size is #18-#26. Tippet is 8x. Even 10x uses it at times. It is very sensitive fishing.

I fished pretty Amago (Landlocked salmon). The period of the fishing of Japan is September from March. Every year the first encounter is very joyful.
