Weekly? good Fishing report
Lake Akanko June, 1998
This lake is in Hokkaido which is the earth of the north end of Japan. Except for a hot spring resort, the periphery is a wilderness. There are many brown bears. Ancient times in Volcano came the dam once, and stopped the river and made this lake.

Mt.O-Akan-dake(Volcano)
There are many Amemasu that are sea run type of Iwana. They are shining in gold. This is only here characteristic. A big person exceeds 70cm or more. Did they regard the lake as the sea?
Huge Mayfly called "Monkagerou" does the hatch in June every year. Very very Exciting Rise occurs in the shallows of lakefront. Dry fly ! of course. Duns, spinners of #8 size. This fishing of #5-6 tackle and 3x tippet is grandest in Japan.

Gold! 53cm my trophy
Amemasu of Hokkaido is the few wild trout in Japan.
A regrettably wild trout is decreasing in many rivers and lakes of Japan. It is relying on the release of a hatchery trout. Although regulation is permitting keep of a fish I release it all.
It is for the wonderful nature and Amemasu that prides in it in the world of Lake Akanko.
